Number of voters in Punggol East has dipped since GE

The number of registered voters at the Punggol East single seat constituency has dipped since the last General Election in 2011.

There are 31,649 eligible voters from the ward who will go to the polls on Jan 26, said the Elections Department.

The latest number is based on the Registry of Electors maintained by the ELD which was last updated in April 2012.

This was a decrease from the last General Elections where there were 33,281 eligible voters. The 1,632 fewer voters are those who did not vote at the GE and Presidential Election in 2011, but did not get their names restored in time.

It is now too late for them to have their names reinstated, as the Writ of Election has been issued.

The ELD has set up a hotline 1800 225 5353 (1800 CALL ELD) to answer public queries on the Punggol East by-election.
