Oscar Pistorius arrives at court for final day of bail hearing

PRETORIA (AFP) - Oscar Pistorius arrived in a South African court early on Friday for what is expected to be the final day of a bail hearing for the "Blade Runner" who has been charged with murder over the Valentine's Day shooting of his girlfriend.

The star sprinter entered the court building at around 7:30 am (1.30pm Singapore time), his head covered by a jacket. The hearing is due to begin at 10:00 am.

Prosecutors charge that Pistorius committed premeditated murder when he shot dead his model law graduate girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door at his upscale house in the early hours of Valentine's Day.

He says he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder in the dead of night and did not intend to kill her.

Pistorius inspired scores around the world when he became the first double amputee to compete against able-bodied athletes during the London Olympic Games.

Friday will mark the fourth day of Pistorius's bail hearing, with many expecting a ruling on whether he will have to remain in custody.
