COI submits its report on train disruptions

A highly anticipated report by the Committee of Inquiry (COI) that probed two major train disruptions last year was submitted to Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew on Tuesday.

In a statement released to the media, the committee expressed confidence that the report's recommendations, when carried out, will reduce the likelihood of similar breakdowns in the future.

It added that even if such incidents were to occur, the operators' responses would be better.

Mr Lui on Tuesday thanked the committee for its work in examining the possible causes and failings that led to the disruptions.
