Singapore's Feng Tianwei stormed into the semi-finals of the Olympic women's table tennis singles competition on Tuesday, after a stunning upset win over her bogey opponent Kim Kyung Ah of South Korea.

Said the 25-year-old after her win: 'I played above myself today. I've lost my last three games to her and I didn't want to lose again."

In the second quarter-final, teammate Wang Yuegu was outclassed 1-4 (11-8, 5-11, 4-11, 8-11, 4-11) by Japan's 4th seed Kasumi Ishikawa.
