Battlefield 4
One of the most popular multiplayer shooter franchises for the PC, this fourth iteration adds a new Commander mode, where one player can play the role of a leader.
In the single-player campaign, the protagonist is a marine who fights from the hills of Azerbaijan to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
The graphics are superbly rendered, with seriously realistic heart-thumping sound.
Bioshock Infinite
Bioshock Infinite is the third in the franchise and is seen by many to be the spiritual successor to an earlier game called System Shock. Shooting skills are required to best the game, but the game is more than a shooter.
You can use magic-like skills to augment your pistols and assault rifles, making battles a rousing firefight. But where the game really shines is in its gorgeous graphics and the realistic city in the clouds.
Crysis 3
The latest Crysis franchise is set in post-apocalyptic New York. From the Brooklyn Bridge to the Financial District, everything is beautifully rendered with derelict buildings and overgrown foliage with nature slowly reclaiming the urban landscape.
Superb graphics, realistic sound effects and competent AI make this game a must-buy for shooter fans.
Dead Space 3
It takes a brave soul to play this horror-themed shooter in the dark. The third iteration of the game sees a retired Isaac Clarke who is forced to return to disembodying twisted monsters and creepy crawlers to save his ex-girlfriend.
In this new edition, you can play with a friend in a cooperative drop-in, drop-out mode: that is, you can choose to play solo or co-op at any time in a single-player campaign.
Metro: Last Light
With an engaging storyline and a seamless blend of stealth, horror and shooting gameplay, this is a beautiful dark journey that is entertaining and nerve-racking at the same time.
Superb art direction, voice acting and sound effects accentuate the game experience.
From the mutant-infested surface to the underground's dark quarters, the attention to detail is incredible.
