India gang rape victim arrives at Mount Elizabeth Hospital for treatment
SINGAPORE - The Indian medical student who was gang raped in New Delhi arrived at Mount Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday morning for further treatment.
Responding to media queries from The Straits Times, the hospital said the 23-year-old arrived and was checked into its intensive care unit this morning at 9.05am local time "in an extremely critical condition".
"She is being examined and the hospital is working with the Indian High Commission. We request that the privacy of the patient and family be respected," said a Mount Elizabeth Hospital spokesman.
The victim was flown to Singapore for further medical treatment earlier at about 2am.
