Singapore beat Thailand 3-1 in Wednesday's first-leg of the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup final at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Defensive midfielder Fahrudin Mustafic gave the Lions the lead with a 10th-minute penalty, after Aleksandar Duric was brought down in the penalty box by right-back Piyaphon Buntao.

The visitors pulled level in the 59th minute when midfielder Adul Lahsoh turned Teerasil Dangda's low cross past goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud.

But Lions striker Khairul Amri put his side back ahead just three minutes later with a low drive into the bottom corner of Kawin Thamsatchanan's goal.

Baihakki Khaizan put Singapore 3-1 ahead in stoppage time, netting after Thailand failed to deal with a corner.
