FELLOW three-time winners Thailand will be Singapore's opponents in the final of the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup.

The Thais beat Malaysia 2-0 in their semi-final second leg clash in Bangkok on Thursday evening. As a result, they knocked out the defending champions 3-1 on aggregate.

Second-half strikes from tournament top scorer Teerasil Dangda and left-back Theeraton Bunmathan killed off the visitors' hopes at the Supachalasai Stadium.

Malaysia were controversially reduced to 10 men after defender Fadhli Shas was shown a second yellow card for jostling with his Thai opponent just before the break.

Singapore, who are looking for their fourth Asean title, will host the first leg of the final at the Jalan Besar Stadium next Wednesday. The return leg will be played on Dec 22.
