With this year's Great Singapore Sale (GSS) already in full swing and heading into its second month, shoppers will have even more time to get great deals.

For even more savings, shoppers can make use of reward points. Here are some ways they can use them this GSS.

CREDIT CARD REWARD POINTS

Shoppers can earn one DBS point for every $5 charged to a DBS credit card. These can be used to redeem dining vouchers, movie tickets, spa treatments and home appliances.

Standard Chartered cardholders stand a chance to win Cathay Cineplexes movie tickets, a one-night stay in Courtyard Room at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, and even a pair of SilkAir tickets to Langkawi, Phuket or Siem Reap when they spend with their credit card until July 15.

CAPITALAND CAPITASTAR REWARDS

Stores such as City Chain and Levi's are holding sales at various CapitaLand malls this GSS.

Every dollar spent at participating CapitaLand malls, such as Raffles City or Westgate, earns the shopper STAR$5 if they have signed up for the Capitastar rewards programme. These can be used to redeem CapitaVouchers or other promotion gifts.

STARHUB REWARD POINTS

Shoppers can also earn reward points by paying their telco bills.

For example, every $1 paid on StarHub services earns customers one StarHub rewards point.

They can redeem bill rebates, dining deals and gift cards from iTunes and gaming platform Steam with as little as 100 StarHub rewards points.

From now till July 10, selected StarHub rewards are up for grabs at 50 per cent off their usual rewards points. For instance, in the week of July 4 to July 10, Robinsons vouchers will go for 500 points for a $10 voucher instead of 1,000 points.

Starting on July 8, they can also redeem 100 StarHub rewards points for one chance in a lucky draw to win personal items from TVB artistes, such as Hong Kong artists Ruco Chan's lucky blazer and Vincent Wong's limited edition Nike Air Jordan sneakers.
