SINGAPORE - Apple's first smartwatch Apple Watch is finally on sale at local retail stores following its launch in April in the United States and eight other markets.

Two Apple retailers Nübox and EpiCentre will carry the Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Stainless Steel models at selected stores. Nübox stores at Raffles City Shopping Centre and Tampines Mall, and EpiCentre's ION Orchard stores will start selling the watch at 9am on Friday (June 26).

At around 11pm on Thursday, a queue of around nine was spotted at ION Orchard's level B4 outside Jason's Market Place where EpiCentre has designated as the official queue area. In Tampines Mall, a queue also started at around the same time. By 7am this morning, the queues at both stores have already grown to 20.

The luxury Apple Watch Edition, crafted from 18-karat rose or yellow, is retailing exclusively at Malmaison by The Hour Glass at Knightsbridge and prices range from $15,000 to $25,000. The Sport version costs between $518 and $598 while the Stainless Steel version is priced from $798 to $1,598.

The Apple Watch models will also be available on Apple Singapore Online Store after 1.01pm today.
