SINGAPORE - The highly-anticipated official Apple store at Orchard Road will be opening on May 27 at 10am.
Close to midnight on Tuesday night, workers were seen pasting the opening date on the existing white facade that covers the front of the store at Knightsbridge mall.
Apple Orchard Road, as it is officially called, is the first Apple retail store in Singapore and also the first one in South-east Asia. The store will open daily from 10am to 10pm.
Queues are expected to form outside Apple Orchard Road in the time leading up to its opening, like what happened with other Apple retail stores elsewhere in the world.
In 2004, Britain's first Apple retail store in London's Regent Street drew a queue of more than 1,000 people, with some queuing for three days. And in 2014, China's 10th Apple retail store in Chongqing attracted a queue of more than 3,000 people.
