Former SingHealth chief Tan Ser Kiat appointed as new PSC member

 
 

Former SingHealth chief Prof Tan Ser Kiat was appointed on Thursday as a member of the Public Service Commission. His appointment, made by President Tony Tan Keng Yam, is for a five-year term.

Prof Tan, 67, was the group chief executive officer of SingHealth from its inception in 2000 till last year. He continues to serve as a board member with SingHealth, and is also the chairman of SingHealth Foundation and president of the Singapore Medical Council.

A statement from the Prime Minister's Office on Thursday announcing Prof Tan's appointment noted that he is also active in contributing to the community.

He was president of the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore from 1994 to 2003, subsequently remaining as its adviser. He has also received the Public Administration Medal (Gold), Public Service Medal and Meritorious Service Award.
