Orphan pygmy elephant bonds with nature reserve keeper
Three-month old pygmy elephant, Joe, who was pictured last week nuzzling his lifeless mother in an attempt to revive her, has bonded with a nature reserve keeper.
According to the Daily Mail, Joe has warmed up to 29-year-old Augustin David, in a remarkable bond between man and animal.
As a surrogate mum, David has to feed Joe every two hours, all through the night, with a particular mix of formula milk that the little elephant likes.
Playtime involves him running Joe around the compound at Lok Kawi zoo near Kota Kinabalu, and persuading him to keep still for bathtime.
