Football: Lions to face La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in August

SPANISH giants Atletico Madrid will play a friendly match in Singapore in early August.

The Uefa Europa League champions, who are led by superstar striker Radamel Falcao, will also travel to Bangkok and Beijing to showcase their star-studded squad.

In Singapore, besides a friendly against the national team, Atletico will host a series of coaching clinics for youngsters.

Said club chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin, who is in town as a guest of billionaire Peter Lim : "We decided to come to Singapore in August to show our support for the Peter Lim Scholarship.
