Demolition work for Budget Terminal begins to make way for T4
Demolition work for the Budget Terminal (BT), a part of Changi Airport for more than six years, started Friday.
The terminal is expected to be demolished by the second quarter of this year, to make way for the construction of Terminal 4.
It was closed on Sept 25 last year, after handling more than 18 million passengers and 150,000 flights.
Airlines that operated at the BT - including Tiger Airways - have moved their operations to Terminal 2. The new, larger T4 is expected to be completed by 2017.
