Digital cameras go beyond making pictures: Cipa
YOKOHAMA, JAPAN - Digital cameras have gone beyond just tools for making pictures, according to Mr Makoto Kimura, President of Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA).
In a keynote speech during the annual CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show in Yokohama organised by CIPA, Mr Kimura cited three factors that contributed to his observation.
The three factors are the current digital cameras' high performance and portability, the variety of functions that digital cameras possess these days that makes it easy for users to take pictures, and the various usages of digital camera users, such as photo sharing through social media.
Referring the digital cameras as the new communication tool, Mr Kimura said: "The versatility of photography has expanded for both business and private use. As a result, photography becomes more of an integral part of our lives."
