Eat where chefs eat when feeling hungry in Singapore

He is known for serving up gastronomic delights. But when Tetsuya Wakuda, 53, is feeling hungry in Singapore, where does he satiate his appetite?

For what he deems the best sushi he has "tasted anywhere in the world", the celebrity chef behind Waku Ghin at Marina Bay Sands and Tetsuya's in Sydney, Australia, heads to Shiraishi (The Ritz-Carlton, Millennia Singapore, 7 Raffles Avenue, 03-01/02, tel: 6338-3788).

Another Japanese eatery he likes is Nagomi Japanese Restaurant (Cuppage Plaza, 5 Koek Road, 02-22 tel: 6732-4300) for after-work suppers and drinks.

The early riser, who is up by 7am every day, enjoys breakfast at Old Tiong Bahru Bak Kut Teh (Block 58 Seng Poh Road, 01-31, tel: 6224-4990). Even if he is alone, he will order several dishes because "I love Teochew cuisine".
