Is our zoo becoming smaller?

I WAS at the Singapore Zoo with my family on Dec 24.

As we walked along the footpath beside the flamingo exhibit towards Ah Meng Restaurant, we noticed that a large area by the footpath had been cordoned off to become part of the River Safari, another attraction requiring separate entrance fees.

Before this division, the path was a very pleasant walkway where children could stop to look at the flamingos and the fish in the pond. Now, visitors can no longer stop to look at the animals as the path is narrow and they need to continue moving to avoid causing a bottleneck.

The dark orange flamingos that used to grace the pond are nowhere to be seen. Instead, only the flock of pale pink flamingos remain.
