Ads 'did not promote sexism'
WE THANK Ms Eve Loh for her feedback ("PG movie on free-to-air channel: Rate advertisements for sexism"; last Thursday).
The commercials of the lifestyle products and services highlighted by Ms Loh were aired after midnight, past the family-viewing time of 6am to 10pm, and in adherence with the Media Development Authority's free-to-air TV advertising code.
In our opinion, the treatment of the ads was within the guidelines set by the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore and did not promote "sexism" or the sexual objectification of women.
All television commercials on MediaCorp channels are reviewed before they are broadcast.
