Enforce traffic rules strictly

I AGREE with Mr Billy Chua ("More red light cameras needed"; last Wednesday).

Drivers in Singapore seem to be increasingly flouting traffic rules.

Apart from beating the red light, there are those who stop on the roads haphazardly, cut into queues at expressway entrances and exits, tailgate cars in front of them, and so on.

Drink driving also seems to be becoming more common.

The enforcement of traffic rules is sorely lacking.

It is surely a simple affair to station enforcers at trouble spots such as expressway exits during rush hour, and at nightspots.
