US singer-songwriter Dia Frampton happy to be runner-up on The Voice
It was a good thing that American singer-songwriter Dia Frampton did not win the inaugural season of reality television singing competition The Voice in 2011.
"I wouldn't have been able to handle the pressure of the title of having somebody call me up onstage as 'the voice'. It's kind of a little scary," she says with a laugh at an interview at Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old, who was the runner-up in the show, losing to eventual winner Javier Colon, was in Singapore to do a gig at the same venue later that night.
Most viewers of The Voice who became her fans think she is a rookie in the music business - she is not. The bubbly and chatty singer, who is single but dating, has been touring and doing gigs regularly since 2005 with her older sister Meg, 27.
