Airline sorry for seat selection woes

WE THANK Mr Noel Low for his feedback ("Sorry, no sitting together"; Monday).

We endeavour to seat travelling companions together whenever possible.

However, there are occasions when the flights are full and we are unable to accommodate all seat requests as much as we would like to.

Eligible passengers are able to request their seats online as early as 180 days prior to flight departure - more information can be found on our website.

We sincerely apologise to Mr Low for any inconvenience this has caused.

Block lost ez-link card immediately

ON WEDNESDAY, I realised that I had lost my credit card, which also serves as my ez-link card, and was linked to Giro for automatic reloads.

As it was after office hours, I called the ez-link hotline on Thursday morning, but was informed that it would take up to 48 hours to block a lost card from further use.

I was also told that I would be liable for any Giro deductions made before the card is blocked.

Why is ez-link unable to block the card and terminate the Giro link immediately?

Bad credit rating over $2.50

MY BROTHER was recently informed that his credit bureau report contained a C rating over a late and overdue payment for his HSBC credit card.

As he had not used his card, he called HSBC and was told that it was over a fee of $2.50 levied by the bank.

It's such a small amount, yet the record could prove detrimental to him should he wish to apply for any property loan or credit facility, based on Singapore lending criteria.

The credit bureau report should include the amount that is owed.
