Architect Tan Cheng Siong devotes life to building homes in sky

Architect Tan Cheng Siong is against shoe-box living and explains that people need space to be themselves and to call their own.

The veteran architect is known for his large and iconic residential buildings such as Pearl Bank Apartments and Pandan Valley.

Building quality homes in the sky, is what he has devoted his life to, and he insists there are ways to keep doing that even in crowded Asian cities.

Earlier this month, Mr Tan was awarded this year's designer of the year award, at the President's Design Award, for his contributions to Singapore's residential landscape.
