20 arrested in multi-agency raid across western Singapore
The police have arrested 20 people for being involved in various criminal activities across western Singapore.
The 17-hour, multi-agency operation was led by Jurong Police Division and included officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Immigration and Checkpoint Authority, Special Operations Command and Traffic Police.
The dragnet, which started from last Friday, targeted people involved in drug offences, secret societies, vice and sleaze and drink driving.
A total of 572 people were checked at public housing estates in Bukit Panjang, Bukit Batok, Jurong West, Boon Lay, Marsiling and Woodlands, as well as in industrial and commercial areas near Mandai, Soon Lee, Taman Jurong and Lim Chu Kang.
