Sembawang Engineers and Constructors wins $260m HK railway contract
SEMBAWANG Engineers and Constructors (SEC), a member of the Punj Lloyd Group, announced today that it has won a $260 million contract in Hong Kong.
The contract, SEC's first in Hong Kong, is for the construction of a railway interchange called the Shatin to Central Link Diamond Hill Station. It was awarded by the MTR Corporation.
SEC has also tendered for a project with the Civil Engineering Development Department of Hong Kong, which is worth more than US$1 billion (S$1.2 billion).
There are also plans for SEC to list its mining business in Indonesia, but SEC's listing plans in Singapore have been put on hold owing to market conditions, according to Mr Richard Grosvenor, president and chief executive of SEC.
