More bosses offering family-friendly work-life arrangements and leave
More employers are offering family-friendly work-life arrangements such as part-time work and flexible hours, as well as family-related leave, according to a survey by the Manpower Ministry released on Thursday.
This year, more than four in ten firms surveyed offered at least one form of work-life arrangement, up from 38 per cent in 2011.
Part-time work was the most common form, offered by a third of firms. All other arrangements, such as flexi-time and staggered hours, were offered by fewer than one in ten firms.
More bosses were also offering various forms of leave to help employees cope with family commitments. Almost nine in ten gave compassionate leave, and almost three-quarters offered marriage leave.
