US senator to offer weapons ban Bill in new Congress
WASHINGTON (AFP) - A top US Democrat said on Sunday she would introduce a Bill banning assault weapons as soon as the new Congress convenes in January in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Connecticut.
"I'm going to introduce in the Senate, and the same bill will be introduced in the house, a bill to ban assault weapons,"
Senator Dianne Feinstein said on NBC's "Meet the Press." Friday's shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown killed 20 children aged either six or seven and six adults.
