More than 500 Bishan seniors come together for PA wellness fiesta

MORE than 500 residents turned up for the inaugural Bishan East wellness fiesta arranged for seniors on Sunday.

The event, held at an amphitheatre at Bishan Street 11, aims to bring seniors together and expose them to various interest groups, in a bid to improve their health and wellbeing.

These groups includes learning the ukelele, taking up balloon sculpturing and practicing Qigong. The guest-of-honour was Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC MP Wong Kan Seng, who sang along with the ukelele group.

The fiesta is part of the People's Association Wellness Programme that is targeting about 500,000 seniors who are 50 and above, by 2016.
