3,000 attend Straits Times sneak preview of The Hobbit
FOR one evening, it appeared as though dwarves, elves and wizards had escaped from Middle Earth and descended on Shaw Lido theatres.
This evening, fans dressed up as characters from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey joined more than 3,000 people at a special sneak screening of the blockbuster movie ahead of the official opening of the movie on Thursday.
The event was The Straits Times Appreciates Readers (Star) Movie Night, organised by The Straits Times to reward its readers. The event was supported by Warner Bros, Standard Chartered Bank, Tenet Insurance and Samsung.
Among the moviegoers, about 800 ST subscribers and readers had won tickets by participating in an online ticket giveaway and a coupon cut-and-paste contest which ended two weeks ago.
