Two workers from China charged for criminal trespass after crane protest

Two construction workers from China who yesterday perched themselves atop two tower cranes were charged in court on Friday with criminal trespass.

Zhu Guilei, 24, and Wu Xiaolin, 47, are accused of unlawfully remaining on two construction cranes at a worksite at Jurong Port Road with intent to cause alarm to the project manager of their employer by threatening behaviour.

Zhu was accused of trespassing between 6am and 2.20pm; Wu between 6.30am and 3.30pm.

Both indicated they intend to claim trial to the charges. They were offered bail of $10,000. The case was adjourned for a pre-trial conference next Wednesday.
