New training scheme for elder-care workers
Elder care is getting a boost in terms of better qualified care workers, thanks to a new training scheme.
Launched today by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), the scheme involves a two-level Workforce Skills Qualifications training.
Those with a secondary school education are eligible to apply. Staff already in the elder-care industry can upgrade or attain new qualifications.
Currently, most elder-care workers receive on-the-job training.
