Singapore's Hariss ruled out of AFF Suzuki Cup after breaking fibula
KUALA LUMPUR - Singapore's midfield lynchpin Hariss Harun has been ruled out of the rest of the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup, after suffering a broken right fibula during Wednesday's 0-1 defeat by Indonesia.
The Lions' media officer Visakan Subramanian confirmed this on Thursday, after the 22-year-old footballer underwent a scan in the morning.
Hariss missed the 2010 edition of the AFF Cup due to a similar injury, and will now be out of action from six to eight weeks.
The news will be a major blow to Singapore coach Raddy Avramovic, who will also be without fullbacks Irwan Shah (suspension) and Shaiful Esah (injury) for Saturday's crucial Group B tie against Laos.
