Man who stole rifle from specialist cadet trainee jailed


The man who stole a rifle from a specialist cadet trainee in Pasir Laba Camp had also taken drugs, a court heard.

Electrician Mohammad Ridzuan Jamari, 31, had pleaded guilty to stealing the SAR 21 rifle from Mr Kang Tai, 22, at the standard obstacle course of the Pasir Laba Camp and taking methamphetamine or Ice on May 8 this year.

A Community Court heard that Ridzuan had gone to a construction site at the camp in Pasir Laba Road with two others for work when he committed the offence.

Mr Kang was running towards a finishing line when Ridzuan ran alongside him and grabbed his shoulder and shouted at him.
