Indonesia held by Laos in AFF Suzuki Cup opener
KUALA LUMPUR - Finalists last time around, Indonesia needed a 90th minute equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw with minnows Laos in their opening Group B match at the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup on Sunday.
Substitute Vendry Ronaldo Mofu was on hand to tap in from close range after goalkeeper Sengphachan Bounthisanh had spilled Andik Vermansah's shot.
It was the second time in the game that the Indonesians had come back from a goal down to level the scores. Earlier, midfielder Raphael Maitimo had headed in to cancel out Khampheng Sayavutthi's opener from the penalty spot.
Both sides ended the game with 10 men apiece, with Indonesia goalkeeper Endra Prasetya Suprapto and Laos midfielder Sopha Saysana receiving their marching orders in the first half.
