Police nab 81 people after checks at entertainment outlets


SOME 81 Singaporeans and foreigners were arrested for offences such as illegal employment, immigration, and public-order related offences, in a police operation at entertainment belts from Friday night till Saturday morning.

In a media statement on Sunday, the police said the island-wide operation also involved the Central Narcotics Bureau and the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

The arrests came after checks at entertainment outlets in Foch Road, South Bridge Road, Tras Street and Magazine Road.

Those arrested conprised seven Singaporean men and 74 women foreigners aged between 17 and 38.
