Relook HDB's ownership policy

WHEN I used to own an HDB flat, the condition for buying private property was that I had to reside in the HDB flat ("HDB resale flats: Reduced supply pushes prices up" Nov 3).

As I wanted to reside in the condominium apartment that I had bought, I had no choice but to sell the HDB flat.

But it appears not to be so now; one can own and live in a private property and keep one's HDB flat as well, to rent out and earn revenue.

Given the current trend of sky-rocketing property prices, the HDB should reconsider its policy of letting those with private properties hold onto their HDB flats if they do not wish to reside in public housing.
