In just two years, radio programme Rod Monteiro And The Married Men has become the voice more young morning commuters are getting their kicks from.
In Singapore's competitive battle for the morning radio waves, the show has managed to become No.2 on the scene in a relatively short space of time. According to the Nielsen Radio Diary Survey, it has 16.6 per cent of audience share.
It has struck a chord with the breakfast crowd aged 40 and below after moving from a weekday 5-to-8pm slot in 2010 to weekday mornings from 6 to 10am, at Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) UnionWork's English station HOT FM91.3.
Although The Morning Express on Class 95FM is still clearly the segment leader with 52.8 per cent of market share, Rod Monteiro And The Married are very close behind in TSL, or people's total time spent listening uninterrupted to a programme: 2 hours and 44 minutes per week to its chief rival's 2 hours and 59 minutes.
