Pacific Healthcare drops director following conviction revelation

PACIFIC Healthcare Holdings has dropped Mr Benny Kwan as director after it was notified of documents from the Indonesian courts that showed that he had been convicted of an offence of misappropriation.

In a statement today, the company said the various court documents about the conviction had been brought to the board's attention.

The board has also obtained a letter from the Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office as well as a legal memorandum from Indonesian legal counsel that states that Mr Kwan had not served out the sentence - imprisonment of 1.5 years.

The board has also obtained legal advice from Singapore legal counsel that Mr Kwan is automatically disqualified under Section 154 of the Companies Act (Chapter 50) from acting as a director of the company.
