FA Premier League in "exclusive negotiation period" with mio TV

The first round of bidding for English Premier League (EPL) broadcast rights around Asia kicked off yesterday but, in Singapore, StarHub has been forced to sit on the bench.

When asked by The Straits Times on Thursday if it was still keen to secure EPL rights, the telco said it had been rebuffed repeatedly by the FA Premier League (FAPL)

The reason?

The Premier League is still tying up the loose ends of its new broadcast deal with SingTel, and cannot enter into talks with another local provider.
