US to revert to standard time this weekend

WASHINGTON (AP) - Most of the United States will turn back the clocks this weekend for the annual shift to standard time.

The majority of Americans will do the switch before going to bed on Saturday night, even though the change does not become official until 2am on Sunday local time.

The switch means the US will be five hours behind Greenwich Mean Time instead of four.

Residents of Hawaii, most of Arizona and some US territories do not have to change since they do not observe daylight-saving time.
