Pre-schools urged to participate in Schools' Green Audit Awards 2013
Even as they learn the ABCs, they will be learning to respect and love their environment.
In a push to start getting the young thinking and living ecologically from when they are just toddlers, the Singapore Environment Council will be striving to get pre-schools on board their Schools' Green Audit Awards from next year on.
Started in 2000, the awards assess and recognise schools that put in place eco-friendly practices, whether in the classroom or at recess time.
Said the council's executive director Jose Raymond: "The younger the kids are, the younger they take in certain habits, the easier for them to continue these habits for the rest of their lives."
