Former Straits Times journalist found dead in flat

A former Straits Times journalist was found dead in his apartment on Thursday.

Mr Chong Chee Kin, 39, who joined the newspaper in 1998, was The Straits Times Young Journalist of the Year in 2000. That year, he also won the Story of the Year for his scoop on Internet service provider SingNet scanning the computers of its customers.

His body was discovered on Thursday evening by friends in his Kim Keat Road apartment.

He was found lying in bed.
