Cheaper gas for many homes from Thursday
From Thursday, many households, especially those in new Housing Board estates, will pay less for gas, as fuel prices drop.
City Gas, which pipes town gas to about half the homes in Singapore, said on Tuesday that gas prices will be reduced by 0.84 per cent.
This means the average bill for a one-room HDB flat will go down by eight cents a month, and that for a five-room HDB flat, by 16 cents a month.
City Gas reviews its gas prices every three months based on the Energy Market Authority's guidelines, and adjusts for the cost of fuel for gas production.
