Computer users here are exploiting an apparent loophole to download the new Microsoft Windows 8 operating system at a fraction of the price.
Launched last Friday, the new version of Microsoft's flagship Windows operating system - designed primarily for touchscreens - can be downloaded from its website for $49.99.
A DVD version of Windows 8 Pro goes for $89 at technology stores Challenger and Courts.
People who bought Windows 7 desktops and laptops after June 2 this year can legitimately download the premium Windows 8 Pro edition at a promotional rate of $17.99.
