More make it to post-secondary education over last decade
MORE students here are making it to post-secondary education, according to figures released by the Ministry of Education on Monday tracing examination performance over the last decade.
Of the cohort that entered Primary 1 in 2001, 94.1 per cent were admitted to post-secondary institutions, up from 93.8 per cent for the 2000 cohort, and 87.6 per cent for the 1992 cohort.
Students are also performing better in national examinations at primary, secondary and post-Secondary levels.
Performance at the A-Level examinations improved the most. In 2011, 90.8 per cent attained three passes and a pass in General Paper or Knowledge and Inquiry, up from 85.2 per cent in 2002.
