Syrian toddler thought dead reunited with parents

NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) - A Cypriot lawyer says a 2-year-old Syrian boy who was believed dead after his family inadvertently left him behind as they fled their shelled Damascus home last summer has been reunited with his parents on the Mediterranean island.

Stella Constantinou told The Associated Press today that no one knows exactly how long little Bushr Al Tawashi was left wandering on his own in the rubble of his home before another family found him and handed him over to rebel fighters who took him into their care.

Word eventually reached the parents, who are seeking asylum in Cyprus along with their two other boys, aged 4 and 6.

They sought Ms Constantinou's help to bring him to the island.
