Circle Line breaks down, passengers detrained
TRAIN service along the entire Circle Line was disrupted for more than 30 minutes Thursday night due to a power fault, and some passengers had to detrain onto the tracks.
Operator SMRT said the fault took place at 10.26pm. At around 10.45pm, it sent out a tweet on its Twitter account stating that there was no train service on the Circle Line between Dhoby Ghaut and HarbourFront stations due to a power fault.
Train service between Paya Lebar and HarbourFront stations had resumed as of 11.20pm, but no trains were running between Paya Lebar and Dhoby Ghaut, and Paya Lebar and Marina Bay.
In a Facebook post, Transport Minister said he has asked the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to get to the root cause of the disruption and ensure all necessary measures were speedily implemented.
