Spike-and-steal woman gets 5 years' corrective training

A woman who spiked the drinks of her victims and stole valuables from them was sentenced to five years' corrective training today.

Teo Bee Fong, 52, had earlier pleaded guilty to eight charges of theft and causing hurt by means of poison. Ten other charges were considered during her sentencing.

In all, the unemployed woman stole cash and property totalling $106,755 from nine men between November last year and April this year.

The court was told that Teo, a repeat offender, would approach her victims and chat with them, offering a drink and sometimes, even massage services.
