Tanya Chua: Singer, songwriter, producer, baker

Local singer-songwriter Tanya Chua was recently back in Singapore to promote her first all-English album in nine years, Just Say So.

Fully-funded by the three-time winner of the Golden Melody Award for Best Female Mandarin Singer herself, Tanya’s upcoming English concert here in December will be followed by a tour around Asia.

Having composed songs for her own albums, and many other artists, Tanya wants to take it a step further and move into the role of producer. Her latest collaboration with Mandopop diva Jolin Tsai saw her write and produce Wo, the final track on Jolin’s new album MUSE.

In addition, the 37-year-old also revealed a new found love – baking. She confessed that she does this even at midnight. She would then post the pictures on social media sites and check back the next day for ‘likes’ and comments.
