OCBC institutionalises work-life balance with novel leave schemes

OCBC Bank is offering more than 7,000 employees a three-month career break as a way to improve the firm's work-life balance.

Employees, who must have at least five years of service to be eligible, can take up to three consecutive months of unpaid leave, for any reason.

They will be allowed two such breaks during their time of employment.

They will continue to be covered by OCBC's insurance plans for medical treatment and hospitalisation expenses while on their breaks.
